In the future, LED will extend to the fields of agriculture, medical care, communication, etc. The vegetables of ordinary people can be promoted by special LED lamp illumination, and the quality and output are greatly improved. 'LEDs consume only about 20% of the power of traditional tungsten light sources with the same brightness. Its high-profile industrial status has made pure semiconductor light sources an indispensable component of the new era lighting system.' Taiwanese workers Zhu Mudao, head of the optoelectronic components and system application group of the Institute of Electro-optics, said that how to use the LED industry development experience requires the joint efforts of the cross-strait industry to make continuous investment in the key technology research and development of LED lighting.

In 2004, Xiamen City took the lead in implementing the photovoltaic industry development plan in the country forward, and achieved remarkable achievements through good cooperation with Taiwan's optoelectronic industry. In the past 10 years, the total number of optoelectronic enterprises in Xiamen has increased from more than 50 to more than 300. The total industrial output value has increased from 6 billion yuan to 121.8 billion yuan, an increase of more than 20 times. It has become the two photovoltaic enterprises in Fujian Province with a value of over 100 billion yuan. One of the cities; in March of this year, Xiamen was the first national semiconductor lighting industrialization base awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and was named one of the only two Class A bases in the national semiconductor lighting field by the Ministry of Science and Technology; Focusing on the development characteristics of the LED lighting industry, it has become a sample of the development of semiconductor lighting industrialization bases in 14 countries across the country. It has been hailed as the “Xiamen Model” by the industry and has become one of the two modes of LED industry development in China.

'The LED lighting industry on both sides of the strait should stimulate each other's advantages and complement each other to create a Chinese brand.' Wang Binglong, chairman of the Taiwan Optoelectronic Semiconductor Industry Association, believes that Taiwan's LED lighting research and development is early, with strong experience and outstanding advantages in semiconductors. There are good conditions in terms of capital and technology. As a frontier of Taiwan, Xiamen is a major town for the manufacture and export of LED epitaxial chips and high-end LED bulbs. The industrial cluster effect is remarkable. Therefore, to play the advantages of both sides, look at the world, and cooperation and development is the road to win-win and common prosperity.
